“He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” ~ Phil 1:6

Beloved Ones in Christ,

Yesterday I received very sad news that one of our faculty members, Babu Paul, went home to be with the Lord. He was only 48 years old. Babu graduated from IEM Bible College in 1997 and has been our Bible School registrar since 2004. He led the students on their summer mission trip to the northeastern states every year, where he preached the Gospel and baptized many people. Now his work is over, and great will be his reward in heaven. Please pray for the comfort of his wife and two children.

We thank the Lord for very blessed 50-Year Celebration Banquets in Southern California on October 8th and in Washington on October 21st with many of our prayer partners. We thank the Lord for all of our dear friends across the country, who faithfully pray and help us reach the people of India with the Gospel.

By God’s grace, our 10th-annual Leadership Training Institute has started this month at our campus in Kerala, South India. Out of the 400 people who applied for admission, we have selected 200 to participate in this intensive 6-week Bible study. Please pray for their daily strength and devotion, as well as for the encouragement and health of our staff members who conduct the study.

Jesus said the fields are white and ready for harvest. One of my favorite Bible verses is
I Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” May the grace of God be with all of you and keep you under the shadow of His wings.

Yours in His Service,

G.V. Mathai

“So is my Word that goes out from my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” ~ Isaiah 55:11

Dear Ones in Christ,

We are deeply grateful having just returned from an encouraging trip to Ohio, where we held the first of our three 50th anniversary celebration dinners. We experienced uplifting fellowship and were encouraged by all who participated and extended their continued prayerful and financial support. These prayers and contributions allow us to continue carrying on the ministry. We are looking forward to our upcoming events in California (Saturday, October 8) and Washington (Friday, October 21).

Please pray for board member Gerald Hershberger, who has been recuperating from heart surgery. Pray for healing and restoration of his health. Also remember his dear wife Ada and his children in your prayers. They have been faithful partners with IEM for many years.

During the annual religious festivals in Mumbai and Kerala this month, many of our evangelists and church members are busily engaged distributing literature and New Testaments to the general public. Thousands of New Testaments and tracts will be passed out in the coming weeks.

Please also pray for:

  • Our evangelists all across India…
  • Our IEM registrar, Babu Paul. After his journey to visit our ministries in the northeastern states and assist our Bible College students on their summer mission in March-April, he returned home very exhausted. He is undergoing treatment for diabetes and resulting kidney complications.
  • Our Bible College students, staff, and children in the Children’s Home, as well as our home-sponsored children & their families.

We continue praying for all our beloved partners with this Mission. Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support. My humble prayer is that we shall continue to make an all-out effort to share the Gospel with the unreached people of India. God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them (Hebrews 6:10).

Yours in His Service,

G.V. Mathai

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Dear Ones in Christ,

The Lord has been gracious in hearing the prayers of the saints. I have returned safely from an abundant and fruit-bearing ministry trip to India. The Lord blessed me with a smooth journey.

The Word of God is being published, and many people in India are hearing the Good News of the Gospel. Many have responded and come to our campus for additional counseling and prayer support. Please pray that the Lord will minister to those individuals.

The children in our Children’s Home are doing well and happy in the Lord. The Bible College students are busily engaged in their Bible studies and other activities for the Lord. Please continue to pray for the smooth operation of the Bible College & Children’s Home.

We are anticipating a season of celebration as we prepare and pray for our 50th Anniversary Fellowship Gatherings in Ohio (Friday, September 9), Southern California (Saturday, October 8) and Washington (Friday, October 21). Mariamma and I look forward to gathering with you and celebrating God’s faithfulness throughout these last 50 years. Please pray for the event committees in preparation for these celebrations.

Without your prayers and support we would not be where we are today. Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for the ministry and supporting us with your sacrificial financial support. You have enabled us to expand the kingdom of our God. Please pray for our family, our ministry staff, and board members. We love you very much and pray that the Lord may bless you.

Yours in His Service,

G.V. Mathai
