Disaster Relief

IEM comes to the relief of everyday Indian families who have experienced major disasters such as the great earthquake in NW India in 2002, and the tsunami that hit S.E. India in 2005.  In both instances IEM provided immediate relief in the form of Blanket, food, Water, temporary shelters. etc.  We then set up a vocational rehab center in SE India to retrain people in a new form of work. We set up a Sewing Center where mostly women could come to learn to be a seamstresses. Upon graduation they are gifted with a new sewing machine to start there own clothing industry to supplement their husbands who had lost all their fishing equipment and or ways of making a living.
